Welcome to a fascinating journey of discovery into the world of Tango Argentino!

True to the motto “Learn tango with a smile”, you will practise, refresh or deepen important basic elements with Carsta.
Whether you are just starting out, returning after a break or have been dancing for a long time - this offer is aimed at everyone. You can also register without a partner.
In the milonga (dance evening) afterwards you can put what you have learned into practice.
Music will be provided by Alex.

SA 24. MAI | 19 UHR | VILMA TALVITIE (FI) & ALICE IN WONDERBAND (RS) | BODY PERCUSSION WORKSHOP + KONZERT

CONCERT

Serbian Balkan body music duo Alice in WonderBand (Ana Vrbaški and Marko Dinjaški) and Vilma Talvitie, Finnish artist and singer/pianist, started their collaboration in 2023 during a short stay in Serbia. Now they meet between north and south at Leisnig station! In their concert, Vilma Talvitie and Alice in WonderBand will lead an interesting dialog between Nordic and Balkan music traditions, with a touch of Ana, Marko and Vilma's own compositions and arrangements.

The musicians will bring their versatility to bear with the various percussion instruments of percussionist Marko, the rikalo (Serbian didgeridoo), the piano of Vilma Talvitie and three voices. The music is the focus of the concert, but dance and theater as well as the involvement of the audience are also part of the performance. The concert presents the simplest but revolutionary way of making music with the human body.

3 PM | WORKSHOP

In this workshop we will learn both a traditional Balkan and a Nordic song with singing and using different body music techniques. We will do warm-up games and use improvisations to connect with our body and mind. Participants will have the opportunity to go on stage and perform with the band.

27th. – 29th. JUNE 2025 | BRASILIAN FIDDLE WORKSHOP WITH RICARDO HERZ

Ricardo Herz is a worldwide phenomenon with his violin and is quickly recognized by his individual style. With his instrument, he imitates the snorting of the accordion, the buzzing of the fiddle and the beautiful melodies of traditional and modern choro. His blend of Brazilian and African rhythms with jazz improvisation and contemporary composition has led to international recognition.

Herz holds a degree in Classical Violin from the University of São Paulo. He later studied at the renowned Berklee College of Music (USA) and at the Centre des Musiques Didier Lockwood, the school of the legendary French jazz violinist. Since his return to Brazil in 2010, he has collaborated musically with many of the country's most prominent musicians. He has recorded several albums and is also a dedicated teacher and promoter of Brazilian violin music.

And YOU will have the opportunity to take part in his course again at the second Forró Experience! He will be back in Leisnig from June 26 to 29, 2025. During the festival he will teach an 8-hour workshop in person. If you play the violin, viola or cello, Ricardo will take you into the world of Brazilian music. He will teach you the concept of swing, improvisation and chords to immerse yourself in the world of choro, forró, jazz and other popular Brazilian rhythms.

29. – 31. AUGUST | LOCO MOTIVO TANGO FESTIVAL – Tango Argentino

Welcome to the "Loco Motivo" Tango Meeting at Leisnig Station! You can look forward to three days of dancing tango together late into the night, with daily workshops and seminars on various exciting aspects of tango.

Dancing in the grand hall on a parquet floor and in the station hall. Relax and retreat in other rooms or in the spacious outdoor area.

The music selection will be 90-95% classical, with the occasional danceable cortina. Music will be provided by: » DJ Markus Quander (Leipzig) » DJTJ (Dresden) » DJ Alex (Dresden) and » DJ Andreas Giersdorfer

We dance socially and mindfully in a well-maintained ronda, and we invite partners using cabaceo/mirada.

The spiral and the body's pivot points. We focus on turns and swings that enhance body alignment for greater efficiency and ease of movement.

„The body is music – Imagination and Emotion“

Emotions are woven into the DNA of tango, and when you embrace them, you can immerse yourself in the dance without fear of being overwhelmed. Imagination becomes a magical gateway to personal expression, unlocking new depths in movement. We explore how emotion and imagination can transform your dance, turning the body into a true musical instrument—flowing with the rhythm and expressing the heart of the music.

„The MARVELOUS: Perception, Sensory Communication an Interpretation“

The goal of the seminar is to make our dance more sensitive and expressive. The focus is on developing a high level of sensory communication.

Communication means both perceiving and interpreting. We will deeply explore different levels of perception and listening.
Hearing is one thing, expressing oneself is another. Once we have learned to listen, we will discover how to express ourselves through interpretation. What we perceive and what pulses within us will no longer remain silent. We will explore the nuances of communication in each of the two roles, the modes of understanding between partners, and the possibilities of interpreting the music.

With this new way of dialogue, we will discover how our senses open up to the many subtleties of this dance, and how our dance will joyfully transform.
This seminar is a wonderful journey into the heart of our senses, helping us to soar. We will never again be deaf or mute.

The seminar and workshops have limited participants. Please make sure to register in time.

We ensure a balanced ratio of leaders and followers. Those who register as double-role dancers must be proficient in both roles and accept that, depending on the "necessity," they will dance in the corresponding role on the dance floor.

During the event, filter coffee and water are included.

In the station garden, right next to the station, you can spontaneously take care of all meals and other drinks on your own.

This weekend, the Leisnig City Festival will also take place – there will be many stalls with food and drinks there as well.

Accomodation

Soon, there will be information here about additional accommodation options in the city and surrounding area.

The campsite/boat rental site is fully rented by us and offers plenty of space for tents and motorhomes. It is also possible to stay in the dormitory there with your own sleeping mat and sleeping bag. The location is very idyllic, directly by the Mulde River, and can be reached on foot in just a few minutes. Overnight stays at this location can only be booked through us and should be reserved in the registration form.
