Inspired by Confucius, we take this advice to heart and light a small light. On the 1st of May at 12 o‘clock we will be opening our beer garden for its very first season. Of course, as always in these crazy times, everything can still change, but this is our plan so far!
The last weeks we have been preparing the opening of the beer garden. Those who have passed by the station may have already seen it. We have levelled the garden and sown new grass, pruned the trees, built a garden fence and are currently organising the last bits for the opening. This week we will start building the stage because there will be lots of music!
Here is an overview of the artists who have already confirmed.
We are particularly pleased to have been able to expand our team and to have found someone to run the beer garden. Ladies and gentlemen, raise the curtain for the new manager of the Bahnhofsgarten:
ANDREAS SCHÜTZENEDER (waiter / cook / gastronomer) has an impressive CV. He learned his trade in a 4-star hotel in Bavaria and has since worked in many great gastronomic establishments at home and abroad. Since 2014, the city of Colditz and the district of Leipzig have been his adopted home. He worked as a restaurant manager in Leipzig and was able to build up a network of other restaurateurs, chefs and service staff during this time, which he can now draw on for the beer garden operation.
From May until October, the beer garden will be open from Wednesday to Sunday from 11:00 - 21:00. In addition to beer from the region and other drinks, there will also be a great range of regional food from the food truck. From burgers to vegetarian there's something for everyone!
We are really looking forward to the cooperation and of course to your visit. Come and help bring a little light into the darkness!
