HISTORY
On October 27, 1867, the Leisnig railroad station was opened with the Grimma-Leisnig section of the Borsdorf-Döbeln-Meissen Railway
As the reception building bears a strong resemblance to the one in Grimma, it is assumed that it was also designed by Eduard Heuchler.
The reception building consisted of a central entrance hall with waiting rooms and a station restaurant on one side and ticket and baggage handling and service rooms on the other. Until recently, the floors of the wing buildings contained apartments. After a fire in 2000, the roof was rebuilt, but the building remained empty until today.
