Thanks to your donations we can fix the roof of the hall

Dear friends of Bahnhof Leisnig, 

Winter is on the retreat and the first flowers are already blooming in the garden. The days are getting longer and sunnier and the anticipation of the coming year is palpable in the station. You haven't heard much from us lately, but we are busy working and planning as always and have a lot to report.

Thank you gifts and donation receipts

Last week we sent the last thank-you gifts to the supporters of our crowdfunding campaign. If you are one of them and have not received your t-shirts, hoodies, books or mugs, please let us know. The same goes for donation receipts, of course. We do our best to do everything right, of course, but sometimes we are missing one or two addresses or overlook something. For those of you who have booked tours or concerts, we'll be in touch soon to set up or arrange dates! And for all those who support us with doors and plastering in the hall, we are still working on the ceiling. But as soon as it is finished, we will continue with the rest of the hall. Once again, a big thank you to all the people who made this possible!

Renovation of the ceiling

The last of the more than 400 ceiling skirtings was nailed into its original place by our construction helper/janitor Frank Stoltenberg. What an achievement! If you look at the before/after pictures of the ceiling, the difference is like night and day, or night and day: previously the ceiling was dark and gloomy, now it literally shines in new splendour. It's amazing how the wood has remained so well preserved under the old paint and the water and fire damage. We are almost done sanding and scraping. Next, the wood gets a coat of oil and turpentine to protect it. Then everything will be painted in the original colours (gold-yellow and red). And as soon as it gets warmer, the roof windows will be installed and the roof sheeting put on from the outside. That will be a great moment.
