#11 The Music Summer Grand Finale - September 11

The Summer of Music - and the big finish

Dear friends of Bahnhof Leisnig,

From 12am, enjoy an all-day event of music and delicious food and drinks. Come and celebrate with us!

There will be plenty of bands and spontaneous jam sessions.

There’s going to be some savory snacks and drinks. ‘Tag der Musik’ mit uns zu feiern, denn es bleibt spannend:

From 4 p.m we will welcome the Ensemble Ambidexter, a colorful group of musicians who derive their musical strength and flexibility from the interesting composition of a string quartet in combination with a jazz quartet.

From 6:30pm we’ll have The Intercultural Station Orchestra performing as the crowning finale of our music summer.

Introducing The Main Hall Crowdfunding Campaign!

Bahnhof Leisnig’s historic main hall used to be a place for the public. But it’s been closed for 20 years. It was left derelict. With a leaking roof threatening further damage to the structure.

This is a beautiful heritage building. Instead of seeing it deteriorate, you can help us restore its function as a public space. For spontaneous encounters. For events. For human connection. Help our fundraising campaign to finally restore the main hall.

We all want this. So let’s do it together. Let’s bring the station back to life! Help the project - to preserve history - to support Leisnig - if you care about culture - if you love folk music Share this link: https://www.startnext.com/en/bahnhof-leisnig. Help bring this shared space to the community. And please support our mission! Your contribution will go directly into preserving and restore a historical building. And converting it into a shared space for interaction. Every euro counts. It’s our collective effort that will make the difference.

The Saxony Minister of State, Thomas Schmidt visited the station

He was very enthusiastic about our mission. His visit has given us renewed courage and drive to push ahead with the renovation of the station!

We are really looking forward to Saturday - and a festive end of the music summer.

The Bahnhof Team

PS: Are you also curious to see our station in a music video?

The newcomer band Deep in Moon was here and made creative use of our space, check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JG0EXrFnOv0 . We are happy that more and more artists are using our station!
